An old run-down motel in the middle of Orange. Volcano rock walls. Palm trees. The Mid-Century Modern geometric shapes on the front of the motel. That A-frame roof. The geometric shapes all over the staircases. The light fixtures under that A-frame, which are hard too see, but so delightful. But most of all, that beautiful neon sign.
The lights have been removed on the "NO" part of the "NO VACANCY" sign. This place is a run-down heap. But so, so Googie!

The original post may have been true when it was added in 2006, but I'm here in Jan 2009 and a lot has changed -- there are upgrades everywhere, it's very nice! Of course they couldn't fix the basic design of the building, it is old... but everything is clean and well-appointed, and the price is great. Highly recommended for a budget.
Aloha from San Diego..I've been tsyaing @ the Skypalm regularly since October 2010. I'm there at least one weekend a month. The place has been upgraded and is kept immaculately. The rooms are clean and spacious, with extra amenities like a comfortable couch, microwave, fridge and excellent big screen TV. Cleanliness and attention to detail in housekeeping standards are notable. Traffic noise is minimal. Soothing music plays in the background. The in-room wi-fi access operates smoothly and dependably. As a weekend guest, one might expect some increased "party people noise"..I have never seen this. The architecture and pleasantly decorate pool area are refreshing. The manager (Peter) and his staff/family are professionable and personable. The rates are very reasonable. It has been a pleasure to stay here and I look forward to being there again next weekend.

movies are good and clean. i look for a reason other than what i use to. in kinder garden my wallet was filled with naked ladys the teacher called my mother and she said thats ok he just like woman.
